School Biogas Project<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\n

This project includes three components:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Isolation of organic waste from source<\/strong>s <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    The purpose of this component is to encourage students to practice food waste separation from sources and facilitate the preparation process before the operation of biogas machines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Capacity building and competency training<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Competency training for the operation of biogas machines and the curation of organic vegetable gardens will be conducted and students will be exposed to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \u25cf     The ins and outs of green technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \u25cf     The catalyzation of sustainable development through biogas solutions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \u25cf An understanding of audits, record development, and the importance of data storage and reporting of findings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \u25cf   The operation of a biogas machine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \u25cf     The curation and maintenance of an organic vegetable garden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      All these components will be combined to meet one sustainable and well-established ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Students will be able to operate a biogas machine in a controlled manner with the supervision of a designated mentor and the EcoGarage team to ensure both confidence and safety. This stage is important to instill a sense of responsibility and leadership in the students toward the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. Independent operation by the students<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        \u25cf   At this stage, students have mastered the systems of operation and reporting. EcoGarage monitors and supervises their operating activities remotely without having to attend school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \u25cf   Students will operate biogas machines on a daily basis and track the progress that their efforts lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \u25cf   The students will organize exhibitions and educational sessions for other students to showcase the results of their efforts whilst demonstrating the importance of providing ongoing exposure in constructing and implementing a culture of sustainability both within the school and outside it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        These components are critical to ensuring that these sustainable biogas operations continue in the long term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        <\/div>\n\n\n\n

        Incentives<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \u25cf   Shool canteens may lower operation costs through the use of biogas produced by students and organic vegetables from the students’ gardens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
